Hornby

Just purchased the latest Hornby modelling magazine (It's Good). It mentions the Hornby collectors club. Membership £22 per annum. Anyone with experience of the club? Is it worth joining?

I went as far a sending for the application pack last year, but it didnt seem great value for money. Four (?) promotional magazines p.a, and the chance to get a small discount off the list price of new models.

If you want a collection of Hornby's basic 0-4-0T's and 8 magazines per year with the occasional good article, its not bad value.

It has also anounced the limited edition Collectors Centre Models for this year:

Terrier in GWR livery (both servived into BR days), Royal Scot as preserved and the M7 0-4-4T in LSWR livery.

I think the Bachmann Collector's club is beter: 4 mags + a limited editioin wagon + a Malcolm Root Calander + catalogue for £17.

I think the New Hornby Magazine (incidentally nothing to do with Hornby) is very good.
