Moscow Metro Accident
Today, at 1137 GMT, a concrete slab was detached form the tunnel ceiling and fell on the third carriage of the train running by fate.
Having read about it in news.bbc.co.uk, this accident had a cause. It seems likely it was caused by workers setting up a billboard in the streets who bored the ground! That's almost incredible; how a stupid action can disrupt the quiet running of a Community. |

Hmmmm
Not funny at all, but in the UK there have been several instances of construction work for foundations boring down by mistake into Tube tunnels. This mostly isnt carelessness, but shows just how difficult it is when the Victorians didnt exactly leave perfect records. I sometimes wonder if there is any soil left at all under London, its all tunnels, pipes, cables and left over concrete foundations. |
