London Underground

I was travelling from Baker Street to Hillingdon last Saturday (16th.Aug) at about 7pm but could only get as far as Harrow-on-the Hill as the Met and Picadiilly line were closed at Rayners Lane. Had to get a taxi through to Hillingdon - there was chaos on the road by Rayners Lane Station with fire engines, ambulance and police vehicles in abundance. Any one any idea what the cause of the line closure was ?
Bob .

Being a Nothern'er I could be wrong - but aren't some Tube staff supposed to be on strike sometime around now?

Well to be fair, that did happen after I posted. Like I say I'm nowhere near London though.

With respect, it could have been a Fire Alarm gone/set off, or even an unfortunate 'One under'.
