Swedish local railway from the drivers view
Hello!
I thought I could start my "career" here by posting a video showing the Railway Saltsjöbanan in Stockholm. It was built in 1893 and electrified in 1913. 1976 it got new trains, modified underground cars. Here is a little video showing the branch between Solsidan and Igelboda in the eastern suburbs of Stockholm. Or maybe we can call it the inner achipelago? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3v60HdogR8 As soon as I got all my hard drives to work I will show you some pictures of the railway. (I hope I posted this in the right place, otherwise, I must apologize ) |

Hej Bo, I'm in Stcokholm quite often with work. And in May I wanted to go out to the end of the line but didn't have time. I have images in my head of it finishing at a sea spa or seaside resort as it did in the olden days. But I bet the terminus is in a built up area nowadays like everthing else.

And you're right about the terminus. It's a lot of houses there. But along the branch line they haven't built so much. Yet. |
