The Hundred of Manhood and Selesey Tramway, aka the West Sussex Railway. There are at least a couple of books available about it, and in the way of railway books, probably cost more to buy than the railway cost to build.
It had a pair of beautiful Peckett 2-4-2T locos, and purpose- built tramway- type open- balcony stock when built, but later reverted to the usual Col. Stephens rammle of half- derelict industrial saddle tanks and superannuated 4 wheelers. It also had some railbuses, whose delights probably finally finished it as a railway. |
