Pete Waterman has bought a Garratt for the WHRy

Hi,

I am a member of the Festiniog Railway Yahoo Group, and 'STOP PRESS' from the weblink letter is that the Pete Waterman Trust has just bought the Beyer Garratt 109 (built 1939 at Gorton) from the Exmoor Steam trust, to be repaired etc at Crewe and then sent to the WHR.

This is the same basic design as 87 which has just been 'put to rights' by Boston Lodge, (& that cost is all, 1/2 million pounds) not many worthwhile photos on the web - they are a bit small or very poor!

Yours Peter.
