Churchill's funeral van

I had heard something about this. Surely this is exactlywhat our Hertitage Lottery fund is there for ?

I am a bit curious about the cost though. I could believe £10,000 or so in transport costs, but not £40,000.

I can't believe that something so important went to America in the first place They could have used any item of old rolling-stock.

It does seem a bit on the high side.

But I agree. This is exactly the sort of thing that the HLF should be used for. If they can milk the Lottery profits for the bloody Dome, then they can divert a fraction to save an important part of our railway and cultural history.
