Underground relief road is opened (BBC News)
A £27m relief road has opened in Tipton, taking cars underneath the railway line rather than using the level crossing.

Anyway, it's a much needed improvement which should have been done years ago (when of course it would have been much cheaper!).

Found a link with a video in the local Rag. (You have a minute of adverts first) It would appear the tunnel is 190 foot long due to the oblique angle that it crosses the line

It was a very busy crossing. I used to ride a bike to Tipton which allowed me to cross the line via the pedestrian tunnel. Used to really upset the motorists. The station is having a major revamp as well.
