The Great Circular Indian Railway Challenge
Hello folks, just found you.
We are running a small charity event on Indian Railways next year, in February 2011. The idea is to go flat out round the edge of the network, hitting the furthest points west. north, east and south, and a few other bits and pieces in between, all inside 2 weeks. If you like doing daft things like this, but haven't been to India before and would like a few allies who know the place, and work out how to do it, your time has come. The cost of the ticket will be about £120, and you'll spend about as much again on food and the odd night stop. So add another hundred quid contingency and it works out about the same price as your air ticket. We've got a blog running about the project here http://gcirc.wordpress.com We'll be filling up the blog during the event itself, courtesy of the global digital cellular world we now live in, so if you'd prefer just watch from your computer desk then you are most welcome. The charity angle is optional, though it is a very worthy cause. We have quite a few Indians now on the trip also, so if you are a local and would like to join in, even for a section, you are most welcome. Note: I am not a tour operator. We have someone in Wembley that we can recommend for your IndRail pass, but if you want to just surprise us and turn up on the platform, you are more than welcome. Regards Mark |
