Smile Leigh Lancashire Model Railways Exhibition

I've not seen one advertised for the last couple of years but there used to be regular event at the Turnpike Gallery (Leigh Library) in Leigh Lancashire where there was a display of model railways. Does anyone know if this still happens, and how (if applicable) it is publicised. I remember going to one about five or six years ago (may be more, my memory ain't what it was) and it was really impressive. Cheers!

If it has less than 16 wheels it had better be a bike. If it has more than two wheels, it had better be a TRAIN!!

Try this link for most (Not all) forthcoming exhibitions. http://www.ukmodelshops.co.uk/other/events.php There's one at Leigh on the 25th/26th of this month, seems to have moved though.

Regards, 62440

Cheers guys. Hadn't seen it advertised and thanks for the link 62440. Maybe that's why I've missed it - kept looking for reference to the Turnpike Gallery. Sadly I'll be well on my way to Fort William on the motorbike for this one. Maybe next time!

Hi Jim

For the last three years or so it has been at Westleigh High school. Before that for a good few years it was at Lowton Civic Hall. Before that, as you say, it was at the Library (Turnpike) upstairs. I've been going for quite a few years now as it is my most local show.

It's advertised in this week's Leigh reporter!

A pity you won't be there next week, we could have met up. have a good time in Scotland though!

Pete

I seem to recall it was always only advertised locally on the last minute. It's hit and miss whether we ever receive a Leigh Journal or Leigh Reporter I've complained to both but it stays the same. It's a shame 'cos they're both good local papers, and it would be nice to know what's going on locally! Such is life, now I have the link I'll keep an eye out for future events. Shame, I agree, it would have been nice to put a face to the name. I have my mug shot on the hall of shame (members faces) on here, but it's not quite the same.
