Theft from the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

On Wednesday night, some charming individuals, broke into the container at the north end of Platform 1 at Wirksworth Station and stole every single locomotive from our model railway exhibition.

If you are offered any model trains or become aware of anybody suddenly becoming the owners of a fleet of secondhand model railway kit, please contact Derbyshire Constrabulary immediately.

They can be contacted by dialling 101 or by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 272-12/01/2013

Sorry to hear that wyvern, I wouldn't call them charming individuals though, SCUM is a bit more appropriate.

So sorry to hear that guys! It's unfortunately the way some few individuals continue to ruin the life's of others! Certainly if I hear of anything I would not hesitate to report it. We're you insured? I hope so.
I hope you can rebuild it all.
All the best
Phil

Thanks Wyvern.

I can add that most of the stuff is unboxed, we still have the boxes! They cleared all the rolling stock from both the N gauge and the 00 layouts plus the controllers and all the buildings. They also stole the items for sale in the container. To add insult to injury they made a hole in the N gauge layout baseboard with a hammer.

Fortunately they did not manage to get into the EVRA Shop, although they tried. Security on both the Model Railway Container and the EVRA Shop has now been considerably enhanced!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Ive been asked for some sort of stocklist. The East Midland Trains chaps have offered to put notices up in their messrooms.

That is considerably better off than Swanwick where they set fire to the building on a return visit and couldn't get any trains as the operators had started to remove everything loose from the building

I think a stock list is being compiled. Will let you have it as soon as I get one.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
