Thanks Phil, I do have also an interest in the UK railway scene, but I do not
get over to Blighty enough to make it worth while joining a UK group. I was active for several years at Didcot in the mid 1970s.

As a youngster I remember travelling by train through Germany to Munich, it must have been in the very early 1970s. I have a vivid recollection of seeing a compact, powerful-looking steam engine sitting in a siding at Ulm station. Any idea what class of loco that might have been?

I love Didcot! One of the best locomotive sheds in the UK. An amazing place and packed full of GW's
What were you doing there Bill? Be interested to hear of your time there. All the best Phil

Didcot was a very long time ago, almost 40 years!
I have been thinking about posting some pictures of German Railways. My interest in the German Reichsbahn covers the period 1937-1945, This covers the time during which Julius Dorpmüller was in charge of the German State Railways and covers the entire WW2 period. Even so many years on, I am finding, often overgrown, and forgotten relics of this time. The fact that I am working for the German railways allows me to access areas not open to the public. Cheers, Bill.

Always find other countries railways very interesting too, especially the past.
I loved the old tram systems in Belgium and Germany going back to the fifties though. All good stuff Cheers Phil
