Teenager's legs severed by train at railway crossing

This part of the story is more mind boggling :

While police investigated the scene, a group of people threw rocks at them and the 33-year-old train driver.

Officers were forced to take refuge in the train driver's cabin.

Ambulance paramedics were also blocked, pushed and verbally abused by the group during their initial attempts to treat the teen.

Sounds like they had had a bit to drink. Awful way to treat the driver and emergency staff.

Unfortunately the lack of respect by people for authority is getting worse it is sheer stupidity that it should happen
and if the Police turned up armoured for a riot they would be condemned by the do gooders for being heavy handed even though there was a MAX of eight of them Even though this was in Australia it just should not happen

Though the FATHER of the guy apologised for attacking the ambulance I do hope the Police round them all up and throw the book at them

Hard as it may seem, I have NO sympathy for the lad, and sincerely hope the Australian Police charge all those who attacked the ambulance crew. Perhaps this will teach others to STAY OFF RAILWAY TRACKS?

It was an official railway crossing?

He may not have been treating it with proper care but he had every right to be using it.

(Also it was Australia where attitudes to being near railway lines may be different as they are in many countries)
