First Siemens Class 700 arrives in United Kingdom

First Class 700 Desiro City for Thameslink has arrived in the UK.New train is designed to provide much-needed extra capacity on the south-east's busy commuter routes.In 2018, the new fleet will also more than double the number of carriages, providing 80% more peak seats across central London.

Wonder if they can run in snow? the last lot of trains from Siemens on the Clacton branch couldn't!!

Well we won't hold our breaths. Siemens doshed out alot of PR spin about how they subjected the prototype 700 to a regime of harsh temperature tests in a specially constructed building.

But did they use the RIGHT sort of snow ?

Time will tell.
