'Shocking' CCTV of rail leap man at Crosskeys station

A man who jumped off a platform and ran in front of a departing train at a station in a futile bid to get on it has been criticised by police.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-22735308

"Shocking" footage of the man's dash across the tracks at Crosskeys station in Caerphilly county has been released in a bid to trace him.

What a plonker, needs his head read.

The driver should have allowed him to board the train.
Then he could have stopped at the next station and had him arrested.

Seen some stupid things, but never ever anything so moronic as that.

I feel so sorry for the driver and hope he is okay and that the culprit gets caught.

I had a man vault over the level crossing barriers and run in front of my train whilst I was stopped at a station a few months ago. As soon as I saw him start to move I shut the train doors. When he realised he wasn't going to get a ride he started banging abusively on my cab door.

But this is just another day on the railway sadly. Watching out for people unwittingly trying to kill themselves is becoming more and more of an issue. We have to make sure we do everything by the book because we will be judged on the evidence from the on-train data recorder and station CCTV.

Get it wrong and Injurylawyers4U may be after you.

The world's gone mad.

I've had a great career but I'll be happy to retire in a few years time.
