Hi my name is Ash, I'm 39 and live in North West Wales. I'm disabled and use a wheelchair. I want to travel to Chester or Crewe by train and take photos of different trains that come through, I don't know numbers. After editing my photos, do I look up the number of that train on google and learn that way

Hello Ash and a very warm welcome to the forum from all the Staff, the best thing to do would be to get a Ian Allen combined volume or a ICRS UK pocket book you can find them on the net. They will have all the info you need with photograph's included, enjoy your trip and if you have any more questions the members on here will only be too pleased to help.

Hi Ash, good luck with your visits, I would imagine Crewe would be much busier.

With modern locos, the first two digits of the number is the class. So if you saw
60056 it is a class 60.

Try googling "class 60 loco" and look at the Wikipedea entry, it will give you the basics, then other web sites could give you more details.

Hello Ash, having once lived near Chester myself and still having family that way, I agree with going to Crewe as there is a multiple choice of loco's pass through there. Good Luck with your going there.
