Hello everyone!

From the age of 5, when I got my first train set, (Jinty 47606, three goods wagons and the ubiquitous oval of track!!) I WAS HOOKED!!

Needless to say, I started my career as a 15 year old (1966 to 1970) as a railway traction apprentice based at York shed.

During that time I had the pleasure of working in many locations, each one for 6 month spells, i.e. Doncaster works, Knottingley, Holbeck, Neville Hill and York. Learning how to go about repairing and maintaining the many different loco's that were about in those days.

Of course there were still a few steamers around as well! I did get to help out on Bittern, which was based at York then.

Since then, I have returned to the railway several times (as you do). Really sorry to ramble on so much (It' me age!)

This is Trigo, dropping his fire for a boiler washout!.

Hi Trigo, never be sorry for rambling on,. We all do it at times, even the young ones. I see you were, or are a bus driver. I was also a bus driver in Bristol for 7 years. Started on the city routes and ended up on the country ones. I still have my drivers badge, red and white with the number HH41206 in black, although I stopped driving over 30 years ago. I was the first driver in Bristol to drive a Leyland National bus, which I drove from Bristol to Portishead.
