Hastings Miniature Railway end of season gala
The Hastings Miniature Railway is holding it's end of season gala on September 29/30. There aren't any real details yet about any potential visitors or other attractions, however it has become a tradition to run all available locos with a number of multiple-headed combinations, usually culminating with all locos working the last train from Marine Parade back to Rock-a-Nore.
The HMR is a 10.25" miniature railway running along the seafront of Hastings Old Town: http://www.hastingsminiaturerailway.co.uk/ Tony |

Having had a chat with the HMR's owner, Dan Radcliffe today, I have a few more details about the gala.
They will definitely run anything & everything that is operational, and possibly one or two locos which are stopped for minor repairs might be put on a train (dead) with another loco to add extra interest. There is currently one operational steam loco at the HMR - G&S Engineering 4-4-2 No.1908 'Ernest Henry Upton' which is on an extended visit from the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway and this should be in action over the gala weekend. There may be another visiting steam loco, but this has not yet been confirmed. Otherwise all of the HMR's operational residents - about 7 or 8 diesel & steam outline locos - should all be running. The Sunday of the gala (30 September) is a charity fun day where the staff will all be in fancy dress. Tony |
