UK rail mileage

I had a link I must have put on the computer some time ago, following a Freedom of Information request to Network Rail to supply distance (miles/chains) details across the network. Clearly I hadn't consulted for some time and it now just takes me to the Network Rail home page. I can not find mileage information anywhere on their website, or anywhere else for that matter. Can anyone point me towards a source of such information please?

This section of our forum (passenger operations) seemed the most relevant place to post my question but it would no doubt be of equal interest to freight enthusiasts.

Although you need to register to see the on-line (regularly updated) versions, the system allows you to download recent pdf versions without a need to register. Select a chosen region, download file and save if desired.

Caution - some of the files are quite large, and the documents contain several hundreds of pages, so it may take some time to locate specific routes.

Bevan, many thanks for this. It perhaps explains why my old links didn't work as they were perhaps to locations of (non-updated) files which no longer exist. I shall have a look through the regional files when I have a bit of time on my hands thanks!
