Train side swipe south of the border

G'day,
Go away camping and during yer absence a prang occurs.
https://www.atsb.gov.au/publications...r/ro-2020-001/
Northbound PN freight train 4MC2 derails and subsequently the southbound V/line Pas running on the adjacent track slams into a container.
Thankfully, no serious injuries sustained by the V/line cattle.
I must now google for the updated track diagrams for this region.
I am not sure just when the "Mexican" broad gauge was converted to standard gauge.
The original 1969 standard gauge single track paralleling the original broad gauge lines.
One wonders if the PN crew had sufficient time to make radio communications and apply the track shorting clip to the adjacent line.
Then go sprinting off slapping down dets for protection.
Steve.
