Covid Hobos
G'day,
Reflecting the Great Depression following the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, hobos are again riding the rails. With lockdown restrictions again imposed on Melbourne, some are becoming creative in attempting to escape. Four of our Mexicans were captured in Adelaide having ridden the rails from Melbourne. Freight trains and road trucks continuing to cross the closed state border. Motorists attempting to cross the border being turned back unless they have a valid exemption. And, if granted an exemption, must quarantine for 14 days in a stipulated secure motel at their own expense. One must ask just how stringent the inspection of freight trains and road trucks is at the border. The four hobos having made it to Adelaide. Mind you, riding the rails during the middle of winter would be most uncomfortable. I can imagine that the security regime at all rail yards will now be increased. Playing Pokemon is not a valid excuse for escaping lockdown, those Melbournians fined for doing so. So I would guess that the taking of rail photography will also become a NON valid excuse. All major sport has now departed from our Mexico to various safe hubs interstate, to be able to continue. Will more of them mexicans attempt to break out, especially if the AFL Grand Final occurs in Brissy. Steve. |
