Tickets to Warrington
I’m planning to travel to Warrington by train from Manchester Piccadilly. I’m aware that there are two stations in Warrington from which trains from Manchester Piccadilly travel to (Bank Quay and Central). When tickets are issued for Warrington do they name a specific station in Warrington or do they say something like “Warrington STNS” which would allow travel to and from either?
I’m know that tickets to Manchester say either Manchester STNS or Manchester CTLZ and Liverpool also use STNS but Blackpool names a specific station e.g. Blackpool North. |

I’ve discovered tickets are issued to “Warrington STNS” I’m confused as to why tickets can’t be issued to “Blackpool STNS” where like Warrington the stations are close together but it is not possible to travel on a train between the stations, unlike Liverpool.
