New member looking for esoteric information
My name is Lance Charnes. I'm an author of (until now) contemporary crime/caper and action/adventure novels.
The reason I'm here is that I've started a historical espionage/mystery series set in the 1930s-40s. The heroine is a down-on-her-luck aviatrix who's recruited by the British Secret Intelligence Service to spy in European hotspots during the interwar and WWII years. When she's not flying, she gets around by train. I'll need some details that don't normally come up in the usual places. I'll post my questions in the appropriate threads (likely "Stations" and "Passenger Operations"). The series (if it gets to that point) will hopscotch around Europe and possibly North Africa. It may be a while before I need details about British trains. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Lance, and welcome to our forum.
I'm sure someone will help if they're able. My mother had over 40 novels published in her time - though the urge to write didn't rub off on me. But I did at least help her with the plot and details for her last two books. Cheers, John. Last edited by Beeyar Wunby; 28th June 2022 at 12:05. |

Haha. Yes they had very interesting lives. Mine is quite dull by comparison.
