BR-built Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T No.41313 has been added to the line up for the Spa Valley Railway's Summer Steam Up (now renamed the Southern Steam Up!), taking place on Saturday/Sunday 17/18 June, joining SE&CR O1 class 0-6-0 No.65 (visiting from the Bluebell Railway) and the line's other operational locomotives for 2023 - ex-SR 'Battle of Britain' pacific No.34072 '257 Squadron', CR 812 class 0-6-0 No.828 (subject to completion of axlebox repairs) & Hunslet 0-6-0 No.2890.
No.41313 is visiting from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and making it's first visit to the mainland since 2017 when it ran at the East Somerset Railway following the completion of it's contract overhaul at Cranmore. No.41313 also had a short spell in 1953 based at Three Bridges Depot (75E) and may have travelled over the line to Tunbridge Wells during that time.

Just added - two Sussex-based miniature railways, both celebrating their 75th Anniversary in June 2023.

The 10.25" gauge Hastings Miniature Railway in East Sussex opened on 5th June 1948 & is celebrating it's 75th Anniversary with a three day gala Saturday-Monday 3-5 June. Visiting locos are yet to be announced but expect all of the available locos from the home fleet (steam & diesel) to be in action - this will include No.6100 'Royal Scot', which has seen very little use since arriving in July last year.

Littlehampton Miniature Railway in West Sussex also opened in 1948 and operates to a more unusual 12.25" gauge. Their 75th Anniversary gala is taking place over the weekend of 24/25 June (although the railway had originally opened on 15th May 1948) which will see resident steam loco 'Christopher' joined by 'Mad Bess' from the Ruislip Lido Railway & 'Rosemary' from the Exbury Gardens Railway.

Added the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway's Autumn Gala (23/24 September) to post #1.
https://www.lynton-rail.co.uk/events...23-autumn-gala

The visiting locos have changed a few times...
Originally planned to be 'Russell' from the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, but this was replaced by 'Welsh Pony' from Ffestiniog - now this loco has become unavailable and the FR are now sending Quarry Hunslets 'Lilla' & 'Hugh Napier' instead.
