Best line up for some time at East Lancs. I'll be there trying out my new lens.

I've read on another forum that there is no night shoot at this gala, but no reason was given

You are correct Ken there was the potential of one but it is now not going ahead.

I know these nights need a lot of volunteers to be available, so they can be set up and run smoothly, and it is not always possible to get the minimum number of people required, so that could be the reason.

I hope that everybody who attends as a good time and I look forward to seeing the shots.

Cheers John

Public timetable with locos has now been published. Please bear in mind that the loco allocations may still change.

Thanks for the link SFE.

Sadly it seems that Braunton has been pulled from the Gala. Still three guest locos so it should still be a good event. Which way round will they be facing I wonder?

Should be a brilliant outing for sure. I love this line.
I can't make it this time round so I hope everyone will have a great time and I look forward to the photos.
All the best
Phil

47324 will be facing Rawtenstall (becuase it was last week anyway) and I think 80080 will be too. I'm not sure about the others though.

A bit disapointed that Braunton will be a no show, I was looking forward to riding behind her. Oh well.

Yes it is a shame it can't run, personally I'm very fond of it. Considering this is going to be one of the biggest galas in years it was going difficult fitting in 9 locos. Whilst I'm sure it could be done, the WSR have been waiting for it for some time. Not knowing whether it could be a fault or otherwise (not my department), it is just speculation. Still an umissable gala however.

I agree SFE it will be a good show as always from a great line.
I cant be there this time round as I am going to the Churnet Valley for a change of scene! They have U class 31806 and the newly restored USATC S160 6064. N7 69621 amongst a couple of others too. Should also be a good day out.
Wherever you all are, I wish you all a very happy weekend.
All the best
Phil
