Well springs branch mickey, the only history I know about 48111, is that at one time it used to be a Nuneaton engine (2B),but more importantly it is a STANIER 8F, and if it is an 8F it will do for me mate.I am very very biased I am afraid, the 8F rules as far as I am concerned, but we all have our own preferences dont we and that is mine.
Plus Nuneaton was my shed, where I started on the Railway and done many years. 48111 |

Nothing wrong with the 8f. Along with the mickies (black 5) and the fowlers they were the staple form of traffic on my patch.
They ran all over the region, carrying all sorts. A railwayman's engine. mickey |
