Like Farren I regularly set aside money so that hopefully I have enough to pay for things when they come out. The problem is that nothing happens for months and then three of four models arrive at once, hence the need to set money aside!
Best wishes, John H-T.

I do the same John-HT. I put £25 away each month. So it will only take me 8 months to pay for one of the Garratts. As they say they will be ready for Christmas 2012, I have plenty of time to save up. Mind you I already have £55 saved.
All I need now is for someone to do a RTR Rhodesian 15th Class or a 20th class Garratt. I would even be happy with a 14th class one. 'Fat chance'.

It was Rhodesia when I lived there, It was Rhodesia when I left there. To me it will always be Rhodesia.
As for a Rhodesian fireman, I did once drive and fire a loco on shunt duty when my driver was too two sheets over the yardarm and fell asleep in the fireman's seat.

I think the LMS Garratts were unique, and used lots of standard "Midland" bits in their construction.

That was the problem with them, too much meddling from Derby. If Beyer Peacock had been given a chance to build them to their specifications they would have brilliant.
