We have not included Heritage Railways. That's a different ball game.

That's a shame

Although I can see why it would mean longer than single night stays and for some of us need to include other forms of "accommodation" by which I mean Campsites to enable a much longer visit. Might it not be a useful feature to add at a future date??

Yes, campsites near to heritage railways would be a good idea.

There is one near the ELR (with a good view) and one quite close to Weybourne on the NNR.

There is, or was, a big caravan/camping site alongside the SVR but I forget whereabouts.
I was staying in a caravan there many years ago when they had their night gala, magic being woken up by steam trains throughout the night !

You were sleeping when there were steam locos going by?

That site is probably the one just north of Hampton Loade station on the S.V.R. It's run by the Unicorn Inn 01746 861515 will get you details.

This link is to Google maps.:-https://maps.google.co.uk/?ll=52.476...21136&t=h&z=16 Hampton Loade Station at the bottom of the screen.

Regards, 62440.

Thanks for the link and great to see this very useful directory. I've submitted an entry for the Crab Tree which is right beside Shoreham-by-Sea station but with the warning to avoid it on Friday and Saturday nights because of the awful noise from the bar on those nights. It's a nice place to stay on other nights though and a very nice location with an excellent very frequent train service.

Yes, that's the one 62440. Remember now the Unicorn pub on site. Thanks.

Mark456m. Woke to watch the trains go past then fell asleep until the next one went by.
