Apologies

Thanks 62440. I meant to edit that last post after I found a series of photos of D306 with the story of the camouflage nose. Just shows that one shouldn't take the first evidence as being correct etc.

An interesting message about 40126 from 48111 my old mate Peter who sadly passed away a short time ago. It was not good news to hear that Jack Mills had been injured during the Great Train Robbery but I did read somewhere that Jack Mills died not directly from those injuries but from leukaemia.
The Class 40s were known as "English Electric Type 4s" in my time at at Kings Cross and I worked on them as secondman on many occasions.
D206 – D209 were allocated to Hornsey (34B) on the Great Northern Region and worked out of Kings Cross on Sheffield, York, Newcastle services.
