I was told on the Crewe cam you tube channel to look at images of trains/locos that come into Crewe. The trains Units through Crewe are 150, 153, 158, 175, 192, 195, 221, 319, 323, 350, 390. Locos through Crewe, 37, 56, 57, 66, 68, 88, 92. They told me to be able to recognize them look at images of each train/loco. Shall i watch videos of each train instead?

I think you may be trying too hard to get the hang of trainspotting.

You have Wikipedia to refer to (as a start) on any class of locomotive, or multiple unit.

So just make a start, and before long you will get the hang of things, and recognition will get easier.

When (many years ago) I wanted to get a handle on "modern" diesel locos I got myself this book.

British Rail Main Line Diesel Locomotives
Colin J. Marsden, Graham B. Fenn

ISBN 10: 0860933180 / ISBN 13: 9780860933182
Published by OPC Railprint, 1988

Now, good as it is, there are two problems.

1) The book is only up to date as far as class 60.

2) It's out of print, so go online and search for a used copy.Try Amazon.
