Steam documentary with Mahler and burning straw-locomotive?
Hello. Years ago there was produced a documentary and it was very well done, I think in the eighties, and there was a scene in which Mahler's "Titan" symphony played to film of a speeding train; also, there was a straw-locomotive burned to eulogise the end of steam or something, and part of the documentary takes place in India.
Does anyone know it? I find it hard to believe it isn't well-known, because it was just so artistically shot. Here's the music, but sorry for the bad quality of the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAEQC3QZdIk Thank you |
