Best BR first generation diesel and electric loco liveries
What are your favourite liveries for first generation British Rail diesel & electric locos in the 1960s, 70s and 80s?
1. green 2. electric blue 3. western region class 52s & Warships (various liveries) 4. standard rail blue 5. large-logo rail blue |

I agree. Compare for example how a brand-new "Peak" class locomotive looked in its green livery with a light coloured stripe and the later deadly-dull all over blue.

For me
It's got to be Two Tone Green without yellow panels - obviously late logo period (Ferret and wheel totem) for the 60's but I can remember seeing this BIG Green loco with stripes (I was around 4) and it had a name Scafell Pike and I fell in love with the class 44's at Chesterfield it was on it's way from Derby North (? Naming Ceremony at Carlisle which fits the time of year but can't remember exact date)
