I can get onto RailUK Forums, but D.O.G.F.A.N., if you're referring to Rail UK, you'e right - neither can I; there's a message saying "Please check back soon". Is that the same site? The address is:-

I'm not sure I've looked at Rail UK before - what kind of a website is it, ie what sort of info is (was?) to be found there?

I gathered the prime reason for the site was to promote books about the railways. There were always links at the bottom of the pages to link you into purchases etc.
I found the site very interesting. For instance, in the steam section [or diesel, electric] you could type in any BR loco number and it would give you pretty much the life history of the loco in question.When/where made, number of loco's made, by whom, first shed allocation, last shed allocation, date withdrawn, date disposed of and who disposed of the loco. I hope the site comes back on line soon. Cheers. All quiet on the Western Front, thankfully. |
