The cursed 47216
Anyone recall this story?
http://www.angelfire.com/mn2/Oubliette/47299.html What other 'cursed' locos were there? In cricket, the score 111 (known as Nelson), and multiples of, is considered unlucky and you often see batsmen out for such scores. I remember 47111 coming to a grim end one night close to Preston station when it was used to stop a runaway Class 104 DMU. D326 (40126), as mentioned in the article, seemed to have a reputation. I seem to remember 47321 (nicknamed Dusty Bin) having a bit of bad luck about it, I also saw this loco involved in a crash (although much less serious than 47111's accident) at Preston.
