Fort William
I was watching videos of the Jacobite locos heading for Fort William. When they are pulling the Jacobite in service, the loco is facing Mallaig not Fort William. Where do they turn them? Is there still a turntable at Fort William?

However, a replacement was installed in the early 2000s & this was previously at Marylebone. The turntable is not regularly used and as there is no turntable at the Mallaig end of the line they run tender first on the return from Mallaig to Fort William. Tony |

Fort William
Thank you for your replies. The video I was referring to was the one shown recently of the 2 Black Fives (facing the direction of travel) and the Class 37 heading to Fort William from Carnforth to start the Jacobite season. My query was where the 5's are turned so they are facing Mallaig when they leave Fort William. Presumably they use the ex Marylebone turntable?
