Dundee Railway Station may not be in the best traditions of railway architecture, but I wouldn't say it was a relic from a bygone age!

If that photo is anything to go by you could mistake it for a Tesco, and heavens knows we have enough of those. I think sometimes these local councillors just like to get their name in the papers.

So now the 1980's are a "bygone age". I never thought of them like that.

But just wait to see what a modern architect would make of it. There certainaly wouldnt be any attempt to accomodate actual train operstions in the pile of randomly heaped stainless steel and glass boxes that would be proposed as a "Transport Experience Gateway" (that's a Station to you and me)

Train Station'from a bygone age'

Perhaps the main station in Berlin could be a model for a modern British Railway Station. Tracks on two levels with shops etc in between. An ICE can be seen departing on the upper level.
