Unhappy help needed- balloons

Hi there,
I will confess straight away Im not a train fanatic but my Dad is and he is retiring next month. He has spent his whole working life living, breathing and sleeping trains as im sure some of you do! He is having a party for his retirement and I thought Id try and put a train theme on to it, but I cant for the life of me find large train shaped balloons - except for the ever popular Thomas the tank engine!!! He's 64 I would like the flying scotsman or any of the great engines. If you have stumbled across a website or a shop that sells them, your help would be gratefully appreciated in sending a reply to me for me to try to get hold of a few.
Thank you for reading this
Karen

Welcome to the Forum Karen.

I have to say that I do not know of any locomotive balloons but it is a lovely idea! Hope someone does do them! Please let us know if you find some or someone else on the Forum comes up with a source.

If not I would think there is a definate market to exploit out there!

Best wishes,

John H-T.

Hi Karen and welcome to the Railway Forum

Ebay uk have a few designs under "train balloon" (nothing famous though)

or if your are feeling brave and artistic and have plenty of time you can make your own train with just 260 balloons see the following link

Thank you, thank you, you've all been so kind and helpful!
The ones on ebay Im definately going to look into and probably will end up buying them. i like the idea of the 3 x 260 balloons (like you say whatever thery are)! so I wil find out if anyone could make them for me Im not even going to try to attempt!
My Mum is sorting a train cake out shes had a quote of £90 for one, shocking the price of these things these days, we just want to give my dad a fun party.
Thank you once again, I'll keep you posted on what happens...
