Chuffed to bits!
Hi to all current members, young and old
My name is Phil and I have been under the the influence of steam from the fifties onwards. I look forward to contributing my memories and also replying to members and adding to the growth of an excellent site. As a taster in 1959 or 1960 I cycled to Doncaster and went down the canal until I was across from the Works. Looking towards the Crimpsal I saw engine No 60700, the unamed 'Streak', in the steel compound right next to it. Can anybody add to or comment on this? Its time I chuffed off! |

Hello Phil and welcome to the Railway Forum. I too have been a steam fan since the early 50's. As a child I sat on thw railway line and stopped the Cape town to Bulawayo train just a mile out of the station because I wanted a ride on the loco. I got my ride and a dam good hiding from my dad.
