I passed one down the A12 last week on a Saturday evening running a Freightliner container train service to Felixstowe. I dont think its the proper time for that train as they usually all go through in the morning. But Class 70's are in and out of Felixstowe almost daily but I dont know what the actual schedules are, sorry.

70.001 has been working a freightliner northwards daily on the wcml. I passed it at Willesden yesterday evening, ( I was working the 17.46 ex Euston) and passed me at Northampton Kings Heath approx. 19.15ish. So if you want to see it at Rugby, go up in the evening about seven, I'd say.

There are a couple being used on anglo- Scottish coal workings, via the S&C and Hexham.I think they are night jobs though.

Last Friday 70005 and 70006 were double heading a coal train south through Crewe at around 6pm. Will post photo when I get it off the camera.
[NB not regularly thru Crewee at this time ]

Class 70 this morning travelling southbound towards Durham station at 08.15 it was 70004 working freightliner heavy haul. I was out with the dogs and heard it accelerating in the distance as it approached my position. The sound reminded me of a Deltic, sorry you Deltic fans but that's just what it sounded like. There was real awesome power and it was great to see as it is only my second class 70 to date.
