Great Train Robbery
Hi.
I have just seen on the news that Ronnie Biggs has been set free. What do people think of this? What people forget it that the train driver of that train was killed by the robbers. He was hit over the head and died later on. Best regards. Jonty14 |

Well, two things,
1) The driver didn't die from it. There's no evidence to suggest he died of anything related to the event. 2) What people forget is that Ronnie's role in the entire operation was very minor, and moreover, the part he played turned out useless anyway. He wasn't the brains nor the violence behind the operation, just a body for hire who wasn't even that good. The man's dying. I don't think it matters where he does it anymore.

Biggs only played a small part in the robbery (loaded mail bags into truck). The reason the gaol sentences were so long was because it was a mail train.
