Hello All

Hello everyone, I love trains.

I typed "railway forum" instead of "rail forum" into Google and found this site!

Hope to post here sometime, Cheers.

Hello Green Lane and welcome to the Railway Forum. I'm sure you will find a lot in here Steam, Diesel, Electric and Model with all the other things that go to make up a railway. Hope you enjoy the site and post often.

Thanks very much for the welcome! This seems like a friendly site.

This year, I've been travelling by rail on various daytrips around the UK.

Yesterday I travelled on the Ellesmere Port-Helsby parliamentry service, it was very enjoyable albeit somewhat brief.

Deisel, electric or steam I like them all in completely different ways.

Hi pre65,

My username was initially named after a local railway station on the Merseyrail network, called Green Lane. (Also shown in my avatar). This is one of a handful of suburban stations within walking distance from where I live.

Although it could also refer to a byway too, since my main hobby is hiking. As it happens, I do also tend to walk down a lot of green lanes, in fact some of which are actually called "Green Lane" (unrelated to the above station). Hope that's not too confusing!

Regards!
