Fair Rises In The UK
Hi all fellow railway fans
For the fourth year running, fares in the UK have risen above inflation. We pay through the roof for a service that is not up to standard. We do not diserve this and it is now time to make the rail companies realise that we will not put-up with this anymore. Why not have a day where trains will run empty? If you have any other ideas on how we couild protest then please post them here. I am hoping we will come to a concensus and get something going that will show the train operators that we will not be taken for a ride anymore. Regards and happy New Year to you all Patrick |

The thing is if services improved (ie no stirkes - central im looking in your direction) then no one would really have a problem. In many areas pacers continue to be the norm - hardly a cracking service!

The fares are quite reasonable here, 3.70 to go to Aberdare from Danescourt, and currently it's 4.90 for a return to Swansea from cardiff central - great!

We are paying for the system twice. Once via the fares we are charged, and then again through subsidies via our taxes. Frankly speaking, it's a bloody disgrace. |
