Hello!
Hi, I'm new here and hope to make some new online friends. I'm from Uruguay, railways were first introduced here by British companies and we still have and cherish a few pretty old steam locomotives. Here is one, just in case anyone cares about those beauties:

Hello Raider, and welcome to the Railway Forum. Some interesting photos and video that you have posted. Did Uruguay ever run Garratts? Most of South American countries did but I don't have any information about Uruguay.

Thanks everybody!
As for Garratts, I do not know really. The steam trains that I remember were moved by Henschel and Beyer Peacock locomotives. Here you may find better info: http://lfu1.tripod.com/AUAR.html http://lfu1.tripod.com/index-6.html I'll try to find better sources for you. Have a great day. Raider |

Thanks Raider, I had a good read through the sites you gave me and there is no mention of a garratt of any type. I must admit that I'm surprised as most of S America used Garrett's at one time or another.
