Passing Locomotives

Saw a good one this evening, a class 158 heading north and a class 58 heading south.
Both on the M5 near Worcester on the back of low loader transporters.
The 158 was Arriva Trains Wales, but the 58 was in a bit of a state with side cowling removed so I couldn't make out the livery.
I passed the 158 as I headed north.
Made quite a change from the usual views of HGV traffic.

I think it is a strange world where it is cheaper to move railway vehicles by road, though in this case the 158 might have damage which prevented rail movement. Richard

The 158 looked in good nick but had an air of unrailworthyness to it.
The 58 looked like it was on its way for preservation or scrap.
Does anyone know if there are still any 58's in European mainline service since their withdrawal from UK workings in 2002.
