I do not buy because of the brand but on the individual merits of a particular model. In reality my collection is fairly evenly split Bachmann/Hornby + 1 Heljan. I have one Dapol wagon and my first Dapol loco will be the Beatie Well Tank from Kernow.

My BR coaches are Bachmann but most of my pre nationalisation coaches are Hornby. Wagons are mainly Bachmann.

I have three loco kits waiting to be built and a Midland Class 2F on order from 00 works.

Best wishes,

John H-T.

I am a lousy customer for the big companies as I make most of my own stock. How about ebay for bits and some kits, comet models and DJH.

I have got some RTR converted but at today's prices I am out of the market completely.

Favourite thing to buy presently is Heljan limited editions, but overall for railway stock, I think Bachmann take a lot of beating.

As I said my collection is a fairly even split between Bachmann and Hornby with a few other odds and ends. As far as locos are concerned the balance alters from time to time, the next few purchases may swing the balance to Hornby but in the longer term it will probably swing back to Bachmann - too close to call!

Best wishes,

John H-T.
