Hello
Finally discovered how to post.
My reason for joining is that I had signed up to go on a trips with STARS tours to visit the large 'dump' at Sotteville, Rouen in France, only to be massively disappointed when it was cancelled. I was wondering if anyone on here knows if there are any future trips that they know about to go there as the chance to log something in excess of 250 locos seems to big to miss. I live in Edinburgh and usually go abroad 3 or 4 times a year with my partner, always by train as she doesn't like to fly, which is fine by me for obvious reasons. Our first night, wherever we are headed, is normally Aachen(15 times) but since we discovered Inter Rail we have now gone further, to Rudesheim(Rhein) where we have stayed 4 times in hotels immediately facing the Rhein, and of course possibly the best line for freight in Germany if not Europe. You cant beat sitting out on the balcony till 2am with a glass of wine watching all the freight go by, then getting up at 6am and doing the same, minus the wine. Hopefully someone will supply a positive response, although I realise its a long shot. |
