New Holland Station now gone

A rare sight, a class 31 with the coal train passing through New
Holland Town, 1975. The coal is, of course, destined for the Humber
ferry.
The Station is no longer there.

Atrmospheric picture. Of course, if it were a large steam engine pulling two trucks there would be comments about unecomomic use of motive power

Ah! Happy memories of getting off the ferry and then onto the train for a trip to Cleethorpes! The Humber Bridge just doesn't do it for me. I think that the last time I used the ferry would've been on a trip to Immingham Open Day. Must've been in the late 1970's.
