Amerton Gala.

I am pleased to report that Amerton railway is holding its annual gala on Sat/Sun. 16/17 of June, engines in attendance will be ----- Bagnal "Isobel," wrens --"Jennie", and "Peter Pan", Dave Potters "Paddy", Statfolds Hudswell Clarks "Bronllwyd", and hopefully the very special recently completed with indirect drive Corpet Minas de Aller number 2 with indirect drive.
Amerton Railway is situated at Amerton Farm on the A518 Stafford to Uttoxeter road about 5 miles north of Stafford.

Sounds like a very good line up Keith, unfortunately I cant make this one as I am already committed, however I wish all at Amerton railway a very successful week-end and hope you get plenty of "footfall".
All the best
Phil

Preparations for the Amerton Gala are well advanced.

Six steam locomotives will be present; vistors will be the newly restored indirect drive Corpet "Minas De Allas No2" and Hudswell Clarke GP39 (previously "Bronllwyd") from the Statfold Barn Railway and Kerr Stuart Wren "Peter Pan" joining the resident locomotives, Bagnall "Isabel", Hunslet Wren "Jennie" and vertical boiler "Paddy".

Passenger trains run from 11.00 am on both Saturday and Sunday. At 1 pm on Saturday there will be a short official opening by BBC "Eggheads" Chris Hughes. There will be a loco line up at around 5pm.

We hope that all six locomotives will haul passenger trains, interspersed with freight haulage and time on shed.

Day tickets are available, giving unlimited passenger train rides on the day of purchase at £10 for adults and £5 for children.

We hope to see you at Amerton this weekend.
