Royal Victoria Hospital Netley.
Have any of our Southern based members been to the site of the Royal Miltary hospital at Netley near Southampton?
I was down at friends at the weekend, and we went to visit the park that now stands on the site. It originally had its own railway station for bringing wounded soldiers in, and some rails are still in the ground were the road now runs. Some nice photos as well of a loco in L.S.W.R. livery on an ambulance train. If you have'nt been and you are nearby I think it is really interesting. Paul. |

Looks interesting. When I get time I will look up the lay of the land on Google Earth (great for following old railway lines y'know!)
Here is some more and some pics: http://www.netleyabbey.info/Royal%20...20Hospital.htm |
