Snow-trapped German drivers saved (BBC News)

Some 160 drivers who had been trapped by 2m (78in) snow drifts in northeast Germany run their car engines to keep warm until they were rescued by police.

Having spent the night on the M25 on two previous occasions due to snow becoming sheet ice in minutes, I know exactly how they feel.

In the UK we go into long spells of national introspection due to our inability to cope with 8 inches of snow, but as that article suggests it ain't just us that have problems
